Hunter X Hunter (2011)

Its the Hunter homies!

Plot:

Hunters are people who specialize in different things, such as capturing bad guys, fighting enemies, or even going on journeys to uncover secret treasures. Gon, the main character, sets out to become a hunter just like his father, making new friends (and rivals) on the way. Along the way of their hunter career, they will encounter countless enemies and allies that both help them get stronger.

Individual Ratings:

Animation: 8/10

Plot: 8/10

Characters: 9/10

Music: 7/10

Enjoyment: 9/10

Opinions:

I have long disliked long-running series, simply because I felt that the mangaka just tacks on new ideas whenever he runs out of material to work with (plus the goddamn fillers piss me off). Also, the anime producers tend to stretch out the battles so much that the characters literally hit each other every 5 minutes.

Hunter X Hunter is probably the only long-running anime I know that doesn't have as much of a problem as these. The only thing the mangaka added afterwards was the concept of Nen, which was actually completely relevant. Some of the battle music tracks are also incredible, plus the animation is standard.

Overall Rating:

8.2/10

    1. Sorry for not replying sooner!
I've read the manga until about chapter 90, but I got turned off by the art. However, my friend has convinced me that I should continue it, so I will probably start the anime once Crunchyroll starts streaming it.

    1. Reborn... I watched the first 30-40 episodes because I was told that it got better after (in my opinion) the really lame slice-of-life arc. To me, I got turned off by the cliche main character and the amount of dialogue they had while fighting. I might start it again, but who knows?

    1. I was on vacation for the last week so I couldn't edit anything, sorry. Anyway, I'm currently rewriting my reviews for old anime because I think that the current way I'm reviewing is really crappy. I will try to post more, but I won't go back to the same frequency as before until I'm finished. Also, I'm glad that you mentioned the episode count, I'll add that as well.

I haven't watched SKET Dance, but I've heard good things about it. And Reborn... well, let's just say you don't want to hear my opinion of it XD once you go Berserk, you never go back, as they say.

I do read some manga, but I mainly watch anime. Since I won't be reviewing them anytime soon, here are some of my favorite ones:
~ Cirque du Freak (my #1 manga, but I'm a fan of the author of the book series so I'm biased.)
~ The Breaker and The Breaker: New Waves (they're manhwas, but whatever)
      ~ Hajime no Ippo
~ Yu Yu Hakusho (my first manga, it's what got me into them)
~ Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles (I never finished it, but I probably will soon)
~ All You Need Is Kill (made by the mangaka of Death Note and Bakuman, just started recently)
~ Orange (was a big fan of the original 9 chapters, and it's actually going to resume today I think!)
~ Shingeki no Kyojin (I've stopped reading it recently because there's way too many plot twists)
~ Kimi no Iru Machi (Really liked the original story, and then the main character turned into a player :c )
~ The World God Only Knows (I reviewed the anime earlier, and the manga is continuing from the 3rd season with a new arc)

Hope you like them, I haven't read many.
